MWGB Brand Licensing Policy

Midwest Geobash, Inc. proudly protects the name, imagery, and spirit of MWGB. To preserve the event atmosphere and ensure fair use, the following licensing policy applies to all uses of MWGB branding.

What Is Protected

The following are considered trademarks and service marks of Midwest Geobash, Inc.:

• Midwest Geobash name and abbreviation (MWGB)

• Event website and URLs

• Logos and graphic marks

• All MWGB mascot characters

General Use Guidelines

• Commercial use of any MWGB trademark requires a written license from Midwest Geobash, Inc.

• Non-commercial, personal-use items (such as personal swag or trades) are permitted without a licensing fee, but still require review and approval.

• We reserve the right to approve or deny any request if the use does not align with the atmosphere, values, or sustainability of MWGB.

Commercial Licensing

• Commercial use requires a paid license

• Licensing fee:

  • $0.50 per item

  • 500-item minimum (minimum license fee: $250)

• Platinum Sponsors receive a non-transferable commercial license for all MWGB marks except mascots

• All commercial designs must be submitted for approval prior to production

Mascot Use

• Mascots may be used only on non-commercial items

• Mascot designs must still be reviewed and approved

• Mascots are never permitted for commercial licensing unless explicitly granted

Design Review & Samples

• All approved items (commercial or non-commercial) must:

  • Be reviewed before production

  • Provide sample copies of each item/version

• Samples may be used for:

  • Prizes

  • Silent Auction

  • Display in the annual MWGB Swag Museum

Sample donations are encouraged and appreciated, but not required.

Pathtags Exception

• MWGB has a standing agreement with Pathtags.com

• If you are ordering MWGB-themed pathtags through Pathtags.com:

  • No separate submission is required

  • Pathtags will handle approval on our behalf

Approval Confirmation

Once your design is approved, we will provide an email authorization confirming your licensed use.
This email serves as official proof of permission for manufacturers, vendors, or distributors that require documentation.

This licensing policy helps:

• Preserve the look, feel, and integrity of MWGB

• Ensure fair and consistent use of our branding

• Protect MWGB’s ability to fundraise and reinvest in the event

• Allow individuals and businesses to participate in ways that are proportional to the benefit they receive
