Misc Information

  • Big Prize Giveaway - We're doing it again! We're giving away GPS units, Tablets, and other fun prizes!!  Be present at events and participate to win! Over $5000 in prizes up for grabs this year!
  • Treasure Hunt - Tickets are $6 each and are limited to 1000.  Treasure Hunt tickets are available to purchase through your online registration (pre-sale). We will be selling tickets online, and the remainder will be available on site in the event store. A limited quantity is available each day when the store opens at 10am.  Buy your ticket at the store first, then head to the treasure hunt area on Saturday (see below). You’ll use a provided metal detector to search for buried treasure. Every ticket wins a treasure-field exclusive MWGB trackable tag, and a raffle ticket!! Some instantly win other prizes! Didn't win a big prize? Bring the raffle ticket for more prize drawings at the Closing Ceremony!
  • Campsite Decoration Contest - Love to camp? Want to win some cool stuff? Then deck out your campsite. Preference is given to thematic campsites (theme/bird) - dress your site to impress. Top sites win great prizes at Closing Ceremony!
  • Geocoin Poker Game - Texas Hold'em Poker Game using Geocoins as the Buy-In.  Sign up in advance for one of the 40 seats and try your hand at winning a share of the 120+ geocoin grand prize. The sign up form can be found on the MWGB website.
  • Friday Poker Run - Get out and see the surrounding area and play the poker run. Collect game pieces on your entry card and return to the event grounds by the deadline to take your chance at winning! Top 3 hands win cool prizes and the worst 5-card hand wins one too. We will also be giving away another 100 prizes to other participants.

 

Wednesday

    • Note: We will not be allowing early arrivals or camping prior to 4PM Wednesday.

Thursday

  • 10:00am - Event Lab Caches go live on geocaching.com!
  • 10:00am to 2:00pm - [3] Event Store open. Purchase event swag!
  • 10:00am to 5:00pm - [2] Information Center Open (includes Travel Bug Exchange, Event Log, and Will-Call Pickup!)
  • 5:00pm to 7:00pm - [3] Event Store open. Purchase event swag!
  • 7:00pm to 9:00pm - [A51] MWGB 2024 - Ice Cream  & Cake Party! - GCAJ50B
  • 8:00pm to ???? - [A51] MWGB 2024 Cornhole Tournament
    • Our third annual cornhole tournament hosted by Soccermonster
    • Come have some fun playing cornhole with your bash friends.
    • Top 4 win awesome prizes.
    • Single elimination tournament
    • Check in beginning at 7:30pm
    • You must be checked in to play by 7:45pm.
    • Walk up entries available beginning at 7:50pm - first come first served while spots last
  • 10:00pm to ????? - [A51] Campfires transform to Area 51.
    • Families are still welcome, but after 10pm adult beverages are permitted at Area 51 fires. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday

  • 9:00am to 10:00am - [1] MWGB 2024 - Poker Run Kickoff! GCAJ50D Sponsored by Pathtags.com!

Pick up entry forms at Spangler arena and complete a 7-stop poker run while caching in the local community. Drop entries at Spangler Arena [1] by 3:00pm sharp. No late entries. Partial entries accepted (i.e. 5 of 7 cards collected may still be the winner!).  See full details here.

  • 10:00am to 12:00pm -  [3] Event Store open for you to pick up will-call and purchase event swag!
  • 10:00am to 7:00pm - [2] Information Center Open (includes Travel Bug Exchange, Event Log, and Will-Call Pickup!)
  • 2:00pm to 4:00pm - [1] Poker Run Wrap Up Starts at 2:00pm, entries accepted until 3:00pm. The top 3 finishers and worst hand with at least 5 cards win a prize!  Must be present for results to win!  Prizes may include a GPS unit, Tablets, Amazon Echos, gift cards, etc.  Typically $50-$300 in value. Often times we give away prizes to many more participants. You won't want to miss it!
  • 2:00pm to 7:00pm - [1] Flea Market is open with vendors showcasing their products.
    **Remember - no sales are permitted outside of vendor tables.**
  • 5:00pm to 7:00pm -  [3] Event Store open for you to purchase event swag!
  • 5:00pm to 7:00pm - [1] MWGB 2024 Pathtag Exchange! 
    • Bring your pathtags and swap with the event team to get yourself a limited edition MWGB pathtag! Only available during the pathtag exchange! 
  • 5:00pm to 8:00pm - [1] Geocoin Poker Game! (Hosted by KBLAST)

    • Live poker action! Winners walk away with a ton of geocoins!
    • Every player gets an entry gift!

    • Join us for the start of our annual Tin Foil Hat Night!
    • Tinfoil Hat Station!  Come build an awesome tinfoil hat and wear it to the Area 51 fires!
    • Throughout the night, the MWGB team will be giving away prizes randomly to people they see wearing awesome tin foil hats! - Hint: It's completely random who we spot. Wear a hat.

      • Make and wear a tinfoil hat to the evening fires at Area 51!

Saturday

  • 10:00am to 11:00am - [1] Pathtag Dice Games! (Hosted by JenOvations)
    • Bring pathtags, play our version of LEFT/RIGHT/CENTER dice game and walk away with a pile of new tags!
    • Games may continue longer depending on volunteer resources and number of players.
  • 11:00am to 3:00pm - [TH] Treasure hunt!  (Hosted by His Weirdo Her Crazy)

  • 11:00am to 1:30pm - [1] Silent auction is open for bidding!
    • Bid often, bid high - remember all proceeds go toward event expenses!

    • Test your knowledge against your fellow cachers in this fun trivia game!

    • Join us for our HUGE end of bash party!
    • 5:00-5:30pm - come in and mingle with your friends.
    • 5:30pm - Begin assembling for group photo (instructions will be given inside event venue at 5:30pm)
    • 5:45pm - Group Photo
    • 6:00pm - Grab a seat inside Spangler Arena
    • 6:00pm-7:00pm - Recognition, Awards, Prizes, Announcements, More Prizes, and a Few More Prizes
    • Plus the big reveal of our 2025 MWGB dates and theme!
    • MWGB rolls on afterward so don't vamoose yet!
  • 7:00pm to 10:00pm - [A51] Family Campfires and Social
  • 10:00pm to ?????? - [A51] Campfires transform to Area 51 for the last time of the event. Families are still welcome, but after 10pm parental discretion is advised whether children should remain in attendance.  Come hang out and enjoy the late evening with friends from all over!

Sunday

  • 8:00am to 10:00am - [A51] MWGB 2024 - Pancake Breakfast! - GCAJ50M (Hosted by Handyman)
    • Free pancakes while supplies last!
    • Please consider sticking around afterwards to lend a hand in teardown!

  • 8:00am to 12:00pm - Git! We loved having you, but please pack up and be off the grounds by a "reasonable hour" :)
  • 9:00am to 12:00pm - [A51] Teardown crew assemble!  Anyone who can stop and help is very appreciated!  Many hands make light work, your help will ensure that our very tired organizers can slink home and get a nap at a reasonable hour! :)

*** If trading is still going strong at Spangler Arena at night, etc. we will allow continued use of space as it makes sense and volunteer resources permit.
