Misc Information

  • Big Prize Giveaway - We're doing it again! We're giving away Tablets, gift cards, and other fun prizes!!  Be present at events and participate to win! Over $5000 in prizes up for grabs this year!
  • Treasure Hunt -  Treasure Hunt tickets are available to purchase through online registration (pre-sale) and the remainder will be available on site in the event store. Tickets are limited in quantity.  Purchase your ticket at the store first, then head to the treasure hunt area on Saturday (see below). You’ll use a provided metal detector to search for buried treasure. Every ticket wins an exclusive MWGB trackable tag, and a raffle ticket!! Some instantly win other prizes!
    Didn't win a big prize? Bring the raffle ticket to the Closing Ceremony for a second chance drawing!
  • Campsite Decoration Contest - Love to camp? Want to win some cool stuff? Then deck out your campsite and show off your creativity! Preference is given to thematic campsites (theme/bird) - dress your site to impress. Top 3 sites win great prizes at Closing Ceremony!
  • Geocoin Poker Game - Texas Hold'em style Poker Game using Geocoins as the buy-In.  Sign up in advance for one of the 40 seats and try your hand at winning a share of the 120+ unactivated Geocoin Grand Prize. The sign up form can be found on the MWGB website.
  • Friday Poker Run - Travel around the surrounding communities during the Poker Run. Collect game stickers on your entry card at each of the stops, and return to the event grounds by the deadline to enter your "card hand"! Top 3 hands win cool prizes and the worst 5-card hand wins one too. We will also be giving away another 100 prizes to other participants while the results play live on the screen.
  • Kids Club - Special activities especially for our youngest attendees. Be sure to stop by the Kids table in the Info Center to pick up a passport, coloring sheet, and more. There will be a Corn Hole tournament set up just for kids, a special kids only version of our Poker Run, as well as a bicycle decorating station to join in the Grand Parade. 

 

Wednesday

  • 4:00pm - Venue Opens! C'mon In! Find your campsite and set up!
    • Note: We will not be allowing early arrivals or camping prior to 4PM Wednesday.

Thursday

  • 9:00am to 10:00am - [1] MWGB 2025 - Opening Ceremony! - GCARXXF
  • 10:00am - Event Lab Caches go live on geocaching.com!
  • 10:00am to 5:00pm - [3] Event Store and Will Call open. Purchase event swag! Pick up pre-paid orders! 
  • 10:00am to 5:00pm - [2] Information Center Open (Includes Event Log, Travel Bug Exchange, and Museum)
  • 1:30pm to 2:30pm - CITO- Wabash Trail Clean up - GCARXXM  (Hosted by Pasha88)
  • 7:00pm to 9:00pm - [A51] MWGB 2025 - Ice Cream  Party!* - GCATMXY (Hosted by Cachers Anonymous)
  • 8:00pm to ???? - [A51] MWGB 2025 Cornhole Tournament. 
    • Our fourth annual cornhole tournament (Hosted by Soccermonster) 
    • Additional lanes just for kids (Hosted by Hollybear) 
    • Come have some fun playing cornhole with your Bash friends. 
    • Top 4 teams win awesome prizes.
    • Single elimination tournament
    • Check in beginning at 7:30pm
    • You must be checked in to play by 7:45pm.
    • Walk up entries available beginning at 7:50pm - first come first served while spots last
  • 10:00pm to ????? - [A51] Campfires transform to Area 51.
    • Families are still welcome, but after 10pm adult beverages are permitted at Area 51 fires. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday

  • 9:00am to 10:00am - [1] MWGB 2025 - Poker Run Kickoff! GCARXXQ Sponsored by Pathtags.com!

Pick up entry forms at Spangler arena and complete a 7-stop poker run while caching in the local community. Drop entries at Spangler Arena [1] by 2:00pm SHARP. No late entries. Partial entries are acceptable (i.e. only 5 of 7 cards collected could still be the winner!).  See full details here.
New this year- Kids (ages 0-17) can pick up their own Poker Run playing card and collect kid's only game stickers while participating with the adults. There will be kids only stickers at each stop to apply to the playing card. Bring back the card to Spangler Arena by 2:00 pm to earn a special prize. 

  • 10:00am to 6:00pm - [2] Information Center Open (includes Travel Bug Exchange, Event Log, and Museum!)
  • 1:00pm to 4:00pm - [1] Poker Run Wrap Up Starts at 1:00pm, entries accepted until 2:00pm. The top 3 hands and the worst scoring hand with at least 5 cards win a prize!  Must be present to win!  Prizes may include a GPS unit, Tablets, Amazon Echos, gift cards, etc.  Typically $50-$300 in value.  You won't want to miss it!
  • 1:00pm to 6:00pm - [1] Flea Market is open with vendors showcasing their products.
    Remember - no sales are permitted outside of vendor tables.
  • 2:00pm to 6:00pm -  [3] Event Store & Will Call Open for you to pick up will-call and purchase event swag!
  • 4:15pm to 7:00pm - [1] Geocoin Poker Game! (Hosted by KBLAST)

    • Live poker action! Winners walk away with a ton of geocoins!

    • Join us for the start of our annual Tin Foil Hat Night!
    • Tinfoil Hat Station!  Build an awesome tinfoil hat and wear it to the Area 51 fires!
    • Throughout the night, the MWGB team will be giving away prizes randomly to people they see wearing awesome tin foil hats! - Hint: It's completely random who we spot. Wear a hat that stands out in the crowd.

  • 2:00pm GRAND PARADE - Route begins at the Veteran's Pavilion and runs through the camping area, ending at the south side of the fairgrounds. Watch and wave to your fellow attendees and event hosts, walk along, or decorate a bike and join in!
  • 2:00pm to 4:00pm - [1] Euchre Tournament! (Hosted by Greggreggregg)
  • 4:00pm to 6:00pm - [1] Silent Auction winners item pickup.
  • 5:00pm to 7:00pm - [1] MWGB 2025 - Closing Ceremony! - GCATP0B

  • 10:00pm to ?????? - [A51] Campfires transform to Area 51 for the last time of the event. Families are still welcome, but after 10pm parental discretion is advised whether children should remain in attendance.  Come hang out and enjoy the late evening with friends from all over!

Sunday

  • 9:00am to 12:00pm -[A51] Teardown crew assemble!  Anyone who can stop and help is very appreciated!  Many hands make light work, your help will ensure that our very tired organizers can slink home and get a nap at a reasonable hour! :)
  • 10:00am to 12:00pm -Git! We loved having you, but please pack up and be off the grounds by a "reasonable hour" :)

*** If trading is still going strong at Spangler Arena at night, etc. we will allow continued use of space as it makes sense and volunteer resources permit.
